I was not far from the TA truck stop at the time the Tuscaloosa tornado was on the ground. I live in Cottonwood Park. We saw the tornado and it was scary.

I remember the day the Oak Grove tornado hit. I was at work and I was 9 month pregnant. My husband was working for our company outside and I had no way to contact him. My son was at someone elses house, and when I first saw this, he was outside playing. This tornado was something that I do not think that any of us will ever forget. This page is wonderful. This is a tribute to those who died, or were injured, or just lent a hand to those who needed them. I think sometimes that God allows these tragedies to happen so that we will all pull together to help others.

Name: Jean Harris From: Kentucky |
We now reside in Kentucky, but my roots are Short Creek/Piney Woods/Concord/Rock Creek/ Mulga/ Fairview/Oak Grove/Dora: all that area. I graduated from Hueytown High School in 1949: back then the football games may have been the biggest thing in my life. Some of us old, old-timers are attempting to piece together some memories. Does anyone remember a place in the Ensley area, back around the 1940's, called Tuxedo Junction"? If so, I would love to hear from you. Admin reply: Hi Jean, Tuxedo Junction is at the intersection of Ensley ave and 20th street in Ensley. There's a historical plaque on the side of an old building at the site telling about it. It was a street car stop.

Thank you for the wonderful site, with the most powerful words from Mother Teresa. I am writing my term paper on selective abortion in India, and this is what it is really all about, devaluing the human born or unborn, this has given me great perspective on this controversial subject. Thank you, Yvonne Brown

I have studied my saints since I started reading. Today I design saint cards. I wish I had a publisher. My first card was a rosary card and I have given five thousand cards away. I have design four rosaries for different walks of life and twenty different saints. I am in the process of completing Mother Teresa. I would love to be able to use your picture of Mother Teresa with her rosary. Thank you so very much. Have a beautiful day and God Bless. Barbara Reed Stobie
