Euharlee, Georgia
by Mick Lindley
Euharlee is a small town located in Bartow County, Georgia, United States. It's population consists of about 4000 people. It is a bedroom community of Cartersville which is located 9 miles to the west. It is next to Plant Bowen, which is one of the largest power plants in the Southeast. Euharlee is home to a covered bridge going over the Euharlee River. It is the oldest covered bridge in the state of Georgia. It was built in 1889 by Washington W. King, and was formerly known as Lowry Bridge. The bridge is what brought me to Euharlee. You will probably not be going through Euharlee going somewhere else, as it is about 10 miles south of US highway 411. If you are a bridge fan like me put this one on your list. It's an easy trip if you are traveling US 411 or Interstate 75. See more bridge pictures in our GALLERY.
