Are you one who continually rides the freeway or interstate? The interstate highway has its place. It's great if your only objective is to get somewhere fast. If that's the only way you travel I feel sorry for you. The next time you go somewhere get on US highway 11. It goes from New Orleans to the northeast corner of New York state. Or try US 82 that goes from Georgia to California. And of course don't forget the Blue Ridge Parkway. If you have never traveled one of these roads you don't know what you're missing. You will not get anywhere in a hurry on most back roads. Back roads are part of the past and what they offer most is time to enjoy the present and catch a glimpse of times gone by.
